Activities for Military Spouses

Welcome to the Military! I'm sure you are reading this article because like me, you are bored and need something to do or look forward to during your long day. And if you are in the same position as I am (at home) then I especially know how you feel. Here are a list of fun activities you can get out of the house and do!

- Hit the gym its free to get in with your military ID

- Go swimming check your base directory to find your nearest pool

- join or create a milspo club with other ladies in the area

- Visit the nearest museum which is usually free or discounted using your military ID

- shop. There is a PX on base for normal household items, clothing, etc. as well as a commissary for groceries.

- go to the park. There are several parks on each military base including puppy parks.

- visit your local library. In most cases there is one on each base.

- Golf. Check your bases directory to make sure there is one near you.

- Take yourself to a movie

- Go out to lunch. There are several eateries on every military base.

- Some bases have activities such as horse back riding, shooting ranges, and auto body workshops that vary from base to base.

- find a local craft or hobby store to explore

- visit historical landmarks and cities nearby

- If you are stationed near the coast then go to the beach

- make something nice for a neighbor or friend in the area.

- plant a garden

- volunteer at nearest shelter either homeless or animal

- go to a local paintnite with a friend https://www.yaymaker.com/

- go to the salon there are usually some on base

- create a business from home, get a job, or finish some education.

I just gave you 20 different things you could enjoy with your time living on a military base. So now that you are running out of excuses, then get up and plan and decide how you want to spend your time. If you are PCSing to a location and don't have someone there that you know then talk to your spouse and see which of his/her friends are here with them and make friends with them. I promise it will make it more fun and less lonely while your spouse is either deployed, or working all day, it will be easier with a friend around who understands your same lifestyle.
